This tatoo I drew for my sister. (She was really wanting to get a tatoo and kept bugging me about it.)
The orignal plan was that both of us were going to get a copy of the same tat, but after looking at the finished product for a month, I don't particularly like it anymore.
So im glad it's not permanently imprinted on my skin yet
If/when I get around to it, I might change the pic so that the dragon wings are spread outward, instead of folded inward.
The YinYang symbol is the only thing that wasn't drawn by hand (obviously).
This turned out looking really nice. Great shading and color vibrance. And they form a heart, how cute hehe. I really like the overall design here. The wings spread out gives it a circular shape and brings it together really nicely. And the highlight in the center is reflected and shaded really nicely in the head and body. Great work!
i can see why you like photoshop
the ying-yang looks completely rendered
first of i have to say why is the image so big. the full size version is about 6 times the size of my monitior which makes it very difficult to see in full view. not to mention the file size is 1.3MB which takes forever on a dial-up connection. just something you might want to think about in submitting future works might make it a bit easier for others to view.
also i know you like using a lot of the photoshop filters i personally dont use them becasue there is something unnatural about them. there not to bad but when you start mixing them with traditrional media like pencils you can get an ugly clash of styles. like your woinderfully rendered ying-yang against the grainy pencil shading. also i 'm guessing this is a small sketch A4 the biggest that you have blow up in proportions. something you might want to look at is some pencils dont look to good zoomed in especially nice thick lines or shading.
also i know you dont like using the free lasso you prefer the connect the points type lasso, somethings especially the heads have alot of sharp edges and look very much like a series of straight lines rather than any real curves i blame your lassoing cowboy but i think it would look alot better if you had a fe more curves once again wouldnt be so obvious if the image wasnt so big. just a tip though whenever im selecting something or drawing somehing straight into photoshop if you zoom into 400% at least then all the wiggles/bumps in your lines tend to disappear at 100%zoom so if your adamant that you must use your connecting lasso-er i suggest you do all your selecting at 400% zoom.
its a nioce sketch though my only critism would be that they get a bit too fat just before they twist together
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
